A 22-year-old man was killed and three others injured after a BEST bus crashed into three vehicles near Plaza Cinema in Mumbai’s Dadar area at around 9:30am on Monday. The injured have been identified as Rishabh Gupta (25), Satish Waghmare (48) and Mahesh Doiphode (50). The bus conductor was also injured in the crash. Witnesses said they heard a loud bang and saw vehicle debris scattered across the road. Traffic was moving slowly near a bend when a speeding bus approaching from behind rammed into the vehicles. Teams from the Shivaji Park police station and the fire brigade quickly reached the scene, launched a rescue operation and managed traffic. Police have taken the bus driver into custody. 5 pictures of the accident In a separate incident, 11 people were killed and two seriously injured in a road accident in Maharashtra’s Thane district on 13 April. According to police, the crash happened at around 10:45 am on Raita Bridge in Govili village, Murbad, when a van travelling from Kalyan to Murbad collided with an oncoming cement mixer truck. The impact was so severe that nine people in the van died at the scene, while two others died on the way to the hospital. Two injured passengers were admitted to Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar. Among those killed were eight men and three women. So far, six of the victims have been identified, while efforts to identify the others are continuing.
