At least 12 people have been killed and nine others injured in a mass shooting in an informal settlement in Cleveland, Johannesburg, South African police said. Authorities have launched a manhunt for more than 10 suspects believed to be involved in the attack. Suspects allegedly opened fire at multiple locations Police said the attackers arrived in a white Toyota Quantum and split into groups after entering the settlement through multiple access points. They allegedly moved through the area, opening fire on residents and community members at several locations before fleeing in the same vehicle. Victims include eight men and three women Emergency services responded to a “complaint of shooting in progress” around 23:10 local time on Tuesday. Police confirmed that eight men and three women were killed at the scene, while another victim later died in hospital. At least nine injured people were taken to different medical facilities for treatment. Authorities said the motive for the attack remains unknown and is part of an ongoing investigation.
