It is not confirmed that Alia Bhatt, who came under fire for trolling after the Alpha teaser, will replace Deepika in Kalki 2898 AD. Claims of Alia’s casting and shooting for the film have been called baseless by a spokesperson associated with the film. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, he said regarding the news of Alia’s casting, “It has not been officially confirmed. Someone posted this on social media and others started copy-pasting it as news. Currently, there is no clear information regarding her casting.” The spokesperson also called those claims baseless, which stated that she had shot for the film for 5 days recently. Deepika left the film demanding an 8-hour shift In September 2025, the makers of the film Kalki had issued an official statement stating that Deepika would not be a part of Kalki Part-2. It later came to light that after becoming a mother, Deepika had demanded to work in 8-hour shifts for films. Due to this demand, she was also removed from Kalki and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. After the news came out, the 8-hour shift became a big issue, sparking a major debate in the industry. Alia Bhatt is constantly being trolled for Alpha Recently, the teaser for Alpha, Yash Raj Films’ first female-led film in the Spy Universe, was released. It was clearly written in the teaser that the film is an original story, however, many scenes from the teaser matched those of a Hollywood film. Additionally, Alpha’s poster was also made quite similar to the Hollywood film Dune. The film’s teaser and Alia were heavily criticised for copying scenes and posters. Hrithik Roshan will also have a cameo in the film, who has been a part of Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe films War and War 2.
