Singer Asha Bhosle had gone to watch a three-hour Marathi play in Mumbai a day before her demise. There, she also went on stage and, scolding the audience who came to watch the play, spoke about keeping art alive. This was revealed by Asha Bhosle’s grandson, Chintu Bhosle, in an interview given to Screen. Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12 at the age of 92. She is survived by her son Anand Bhosle and grandchildren Zanai Bhosle and Chintu Bhosle. Recalling Asha Bhosle’s last moments, Chintu said that their last conversation took place 3-4 days before her death. That evening, they had discussed the Iran-America-Israel war and eaten mangoes together. He further said, She left very peacefully. She passed away in her sleep. She had no pain. We had said that we would come to the hospital, but she had said, Let me sleep for a while. She left the world on her own terms, just as she had lived her entire life. Talking about the family, Chintu said that everyone is trying to overcome this grief. He informed that Janai is completely broken by this news, as she was very close to Asha Bhosle. Both had done many shows together. Chintu said that the family is celebrating Asha Bhosle’s life even in grief. Everyone sits together, has dinner, talks, and laughs. He said that this is the way they are handling this grief.
