A son, enraged by his mother’s 12-year live-in relationship, repeatedly stabbed a man to death in the middle of a street in Jetpur, a town in Gujarat’s Rajkot district. The accused chased and stabbed the deceased 6 times on his body. During this, the deceased kept screaming for help, saying that he had done nothing, but the accused kept stabbing him with knives. The accused had fled, leaving him in an injured condition, and the police arrested him late on Tuesday night. 3 pictures of the incident in CCTV The deceased worked as a laborer The police investigation revealed that the deceased, Kamlesh Vaghela, worked as a labourer and lived in the same locality. He had reportedly been in a live-in relationship with the accused’s mother for the past 12 years. Audio from the viral CCTV footage captures the injured Kamlesh pleading with bystanders to save his life. He is also heard begging the accused, Jayant Vaghela, to show mercy. Kamlesh can be heard saying, “I haven’t done anything to anyone.” In response, Jayant allegedly says, “Didn’t I warn you?” The CCTV footage also shows another individual accompanying Jayant. Police have launched an investigation to establish the identity and role of the second person. Did not like him living with mother During questioning, Jayant told police that he disapproved of Kamlesh’s relationship with his mother. He claimed that he had repeatedly warned Kamlesh not to visit their home to meet her. However, according to the accused, Kamlesh continued to visit despite the warnings. Preliminary investigations indicate that Kamlesh and the accused’s mother, Neeta, had been living together in a live-in relationship for the past 12 years. During that time, Kamlesh had also helped arrange the marriage of Neeta’s daughter. Neeta’s two other sons live in the Kotharia area of Rajkot, and police allege that one of them, Jayant, was responsible for the fatal stabbing.
