Sonu Mishra tears up producer’s legal notice:Says, ‘I am not afraid of threats, I am a devotee of Hanuman ji’

Actor Sonu Mishra has publicly reacted to the legal notice sent by the makers of Kala Hiran, saying he will not be intimidated. In a video shared on Instagram, he tore up the notice and claimed he was being targeted for speaking the truth. Referring to the controversy surrounding the film, Sonu said his statements had been widely reported in both national and international media. He questioned why producer Amit Jani had sent him a legal notice, asking whether speaking the truth had become a crime. He further alleged that the notice amounted to an attempt to threaten and silence him. Rejecting the warning, Sonu said he would not be scared by what he called an “empty threat”. Describing himself as a devotee of Hanuman Ji, he said he had built his career through hard work after coming to Mumbai from a small village and did not rely on the names of famous people to stay in the spotlight. He also took a swipe at the producer, saying he did not know whether Amit Jani had actually torn up Salman Khan’s legal notice, but added that he was returning this notice in the same manner. Sonu urged people to stay away from such individuals and maintained that he had always stood by the truth and would continue to do so. Sonu earlier levelled serious allegations against the makers The controversy began after Sonu Mishra claimed that he had originally been cast to play the character based on Salman Khan in Kala Hiran, but later chose to walk away from the project. According to him, the film portrayed Salman Khan in a negative light, which was one of the reasons he decided not to continue. In an exclusive interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Sonu alleged that the makers had promised him the biggest role of his career. He claimed he was urgently called to Uttar Pradesh for the shoot, but after reaching the set, he was neither given a script nor asked to sign a formal agreement. Sonu says he quit after reading the script Sonu claimed he began to question the film’s storyline while shooting a courtroom sequence, saying it was very different from what had originally been narrated to him. He alleged that despite repeatedly asking for the complete script and a formal agreement, the makers kept asking him to finish the shoot first. When he was eventually shown the agreement, he said he was unhappy with several of its clauses and decided to exit the project. Film reportedly based on Salman Khan’s blackbuck case The film is reportedly inspired by the 1998 blackbuck poaching case involving Salman Khan. The incident took place during the shooting of Hum Saath-Saath Hain in Jodhpur. Four cases were registered against the actor, two related to chinkara poaching, one to blackbuck poaching and one under the Arms Act. In 2018, Salman was sentenced to five years in the blackbuck case but was later granted bail. The matter is currently pending before the Rajasthan High Court.
