Truck catches fire, collides with train According to CN Railway, a truck caught fire amidst dense smoke and collided with the train. Subsequently, all employees reached a safe location on foot. However, no employee was injured. After the incident, CN Railway, as a precautionary measure, temporarily suspended all rail services in the affected area. The company also evacuated employees and local residents from Armstrong town to safe locations. This area is affected by wildfires in northwestern Ontario. Opposition raises safety concerns Sol Mamakwa, an NDP Member of Provincial Parliament for Ontario, said that the employee who recorded the video fears company action, as making videos during duty is against company policy. He stated that at that time, the employee’s priority was to save their life and the company should support them instead of taking punitive action. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that three trains carrying flammable materials near Collins First Nation have been stopped due to the wildfire.
