SRK’s ‘King’ to begin US shoot in August:Suhana Khan to share screen with Shah Rukh Khan in lead role

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited action thriller King is entering its final phase of production. According to industry sources, the film’s last international shooting schedule is set to begin in the United States in August. The team is currently finalising multiple locations for what is expected to be the film’s biggest schedule. If everything goes as planned, the US shoot will wrap up the film’s principal photography. Once filming is complete, director Siddharth Anand and his team will shift their focus to post-production, including editing, visual effects, and sound design. An extensive schedule in Georgia was completed earlier this year, and only the climactic action sequences remain to be filmed. Major portions already shot in Georgia Sources close to the production reveal that a significant part of King was filmed in Georgia during April and May. The cast and crew spent several weeks there shooting key action and dramatic scenes, making it one of the film’s most important schedules. Before heading to Georgia, the makers also filmed an elaborate action block at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studio. Work on the project has reportedly been underway since January last year, and the upcoming US schedule is expected to bring the principal shoot to a close. Large-scale action shot at Yash Raj Studios The team also completed a six-day action schedule at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. The high-octane sequences were filmed overnight, with shoots continuing until around 4:30 am. Shah Rukh Khan filmed for four days during this schedule, while the stunt team and supporting actors completed the remaining portions. Advanced green-screen technology was extensively used to create visually ambitious action scenes, which will later be enhanced through VFX. The film also marks a major collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan, who plays a lead role alongside him. Post-production to be the next big focus Once the final overseas schedule is completed, the makers will begin the film’s extensive post-production process. The next few months will be dedicated to editing, visual effects, digital intermediate (DI), sound design, Dolby mixing, and the background score. According to sources, King is being designed as a large-scale action entertainer with international production values. The team plans to spend considerable time refining the visual and technical aspects to ensure the film delivers a cinematic experience on par with global action films.
