Xiaomi has launched its new mid-range smartphone Redmi Note 17 in India. This phone features a large 8,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, and a 6.9-inch AMOLED display. The starting price of the phone is ₹27,999. Its sale will begin from August 12. Prices According to Variants and Bank Offers The company has introduced the Redmi Note 17 in the Indian market in two storage variants: Customers will get an instant discount of up to ₹3,000 on credit cards. Its sale will start from August 12 on Xiaomi’s official website, Amazon, and authorized retail stores. The phone can be purchased in Arctic Blue, Starlight Purple, and Dark Knight color options. Design and Display Features The Redmi Note 17 has a new refreshed design with flat edges and a flat rear panel. A square-shaped camera module is present on the back panel. It has received an IP65 rating for protection against dust and water. The front of the phone features a 6.9-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, which supports a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits. Xiaomi says that for better color representation, this panel supports DCI-P3 color gamut. It also includes an in-display fingerprint scanner and bottom-firing speaker. Performance and Software The smartphone is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, which is built on a 4nm fabrication process. This chipset comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The device runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The company will provide 4 years of Android OS updates and 6 years of security updates. Additionally, it includes AI features like ‘Circle to Search’ for quick screen searches. 8,000mAh Battery and Fast Charging The biggest highlight of the Redmi Note 17 is its large 8,000mAh battery. This phone supports 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. According to Xiaomi, this battery is designed in such a way that even after 1,600 charge cycles, it can retain at least 80% of its original capacity. Camera Setup For photography, the phone has a 50-megapixel primary camera with LED flash on the rear. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.
