Meta’s global leadership team met Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and senior officials in New Delhi for the second straight day on Thursday, 6 August, 2026. Citing government sources, news agency PTI says that meetings with Meta team will continue for 3-4 days. These meetings follow the Centre’s recent summons to Meta after a Facebook post by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was briefly restricted on the platform. Although the company later restored the post and attributed the incident to a technical glitch, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) had termed the explanation ‘inadequate’.
