Mr. Tryambaka Sharma, editor of Cartoon Watch, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Mr. Vishnudev Sai today at the Mahanadi Bhavan in the Ministry. On this occasion, he provided detailed information about the cartoon exhibition and training workshop being held in Bastar under the “Smile Bastar” campaign and also presented a souvenir based on this innovative initiative.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, while praising this unique initiative, said that art is an effective medium for connecting society and shaping the personality of the new generation. Cartoons are not just a medium of entertainment, but also a powerful medium for expressing ideas in a simple, easy, and effective manner. He said that providing children with opportunities for creative expression from an early age develops self-confidence, sensitivity, logical thinking, and a positive attitude. He said that along with education, activities like art, literature, sports, and culture are equally essential for the all-round development of children. He expressed hope that such events will continue to be organized in various areas of the state in the future, providing more students with the opportunity to showcase their talents.

It is noteworthy that under the “Muskuraata Bastar” campaign, the Public Relations Department and Cartoon Watch organized a special cartoon training workshop for approximately 100 students from various government schools in the Bastar region, including Jagdalpur. In this workshop, renowned cartoonists from across the country introduced the children to the nuances of cartoon art, including drawing, satirical expression, visual communication, and various dimensions of creative thinking. During the training, children were encouraged to express their imagination through drawing and develop a positive outlook on social issues.
