Nashik Court on Saturday rejected the anticipatory bail petition of accused Nida Khan in the case related to sexual harassment and forced religious conversion at TCS’s Nashik unit. The prosecution told the court that the charges are serious and custodial interrogation is necessary. Nida is still absconding. According to news agency PTI, Public Prosecutor Ajay Mishra stated that Nida Khan is one of the main accused in this case. On this basis, the court refused to grant anticipatory bail. According to the FIR, Nida Khan is accused of advising female employees to wear burqa. This case is said to be related to alleged religious pressure and harassment within the company. Cited pregnancy Meanwhile, Khan had sought pre-arrest bail from the court citing her pregnancy, but the court did not accept it. According to police, the search for them is ongoing in different parts of Maharashtra. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Nashik Police is investigating this case, in which nine cases of sexual harassment with female employees at the IT company’s Nashik unit have come to light. Under investigation, the SIT has so far registered nine FIRs and arrested eight people including a female operations manager. Meanwhile, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) had issued a statement last month saying that the company works on a zero-tolerance policy against any kind of harassment and coercion. Custody of four accused has been extended till May 5 The police custody of four other accused in the case – Raza Rafiq Memon (35), Tausif Bilal Attar (37), Danish Ejaz Shaikh (32) and Shahrukh Hussain Shaukat Qureshi (34) – has been extended till May 5. These accused were detained by the SIT on April 23rd and produced in court the next day. They were initially remanded in police custody until April 29th. They were then produced again on April 29th and granted remand until May 2nd. The prosecution told the court that their custody was necessary for further investigation in the case, on which the court extended the period.
