Ekta Nagar will host grand celebrations of National Unity Day 2026 on October 30 and 31 to mark the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and one of the key architects of modern India. The celebrations will highlight Patel’s contribution to the unity and integrity of the country. National Unity Parade to be held in PM Modi’s presence As part of the celebrations, the National Unity Parade will be held at Ekta Nagar on October 31 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event will commemorate Patel’s legacy and reaffirm the message of national unity and integrity. 10,000 police and paramilitary personnel to participate in parade This year’s National Unity Parade will be organised on a grand scale, with around 10,000 personnel from police and paramilitary forces from across the country taking part. Around 4,700 artists from different states will also showcase India’s diverse cultural heritage through traditional performances. IAF flypast, patriotic performances to add to the spectacle The Indian Air Force will conduct a spectacular flypast, while various bands will perform patriotic music during the parade. The event will showcase India’s rich folk art, traditions and cultural heritage, highlighting the spirit of unity in diversity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also address citizens during the parade. Free online registration for public participation A dedicated website, www.rashtriyaektadiwas.com, has been launched to enable citizens to participate in the National Unity Day celebrations. People can register online and upload the required documents, following which entry passes will be sent to their registered email addresses. Entry will be free, with registrations accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Parade to begin at Narmada Mata statue and end near Replica Garden The National Unity Parade will begin at the Narmada Mata statue and conclude near Replica Garden, close to the SRP Colony. The route will allow the general public to witness the grand parade and cultural presentations. Special ‘Dome City’ to offer accommodation to tourists A special ‘Dome City’ will be set up at Ekta Nagar by the Gujarat Tourism Corporation Limited (TCGL) for tourists visiting National Unity Day 2026 and Bharat Parv 2026, which will be held from November 1 to 15. Accommodation available from October 29 to November 15 The Dome City will provide accommodation from October 29 to November 15, allowing tourists to plan their visit and book their stay in advance. The facility is being developed to accommodate visitors during the national celebrations and Bharat Parv. Citizens urged to participate in National Unity Day celebrations Amit Arora, Chief Executive Officer of the Statue of Unity Area Development and Tourism Regulation Authority, said this year’s celebrations are a matter of pride for everyone. Special arrangements have been made to encourage greater public participation in events marking Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 151st birth anniversary. Free registration opened for historic celebrations Arora appealed to citizens to register for free through the dedicated website and participate in the celebrations.
