The Yogi cabinet underwent its second expansion on Sunday. Two cabinet ministers and four Ministers of State were inducted, while two existing Ministers of State were promoted to Ministers of State (Independent Charge). The oath-taking ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan. Former BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary was the first to take oath. He was followed by MLA Manoj Pandey, who had rebelled against the Samajwadi Party. Both have been inducted as cabinet ministers. Ajit Pal took oath third, followed by Somendra Tomar. Both were previously Ministers of State and have now been elevated to Ministers of State (Independent Charge). 4 leaders inducted as Ministers of State Krishna Paswan, Kailash Rajput, Surendra Diler and Hansraj Vishwakarma then took oath as Ministers of State. Krishna Paswan arrived wearing a ‘Radhe-Radhe’ stole, while Surendra Diler was dressed in saffron attire. After taking oath, Krishna Paswan raised slogans of “Jai Shri Ram”. Social representation in cabinet expansion Among the newly inducted ministers, one belongs to the Brahmin community, three are from OBC groups and two are from Dalit communities. There is speculation that Bhupendra Chaudhary may be assigned the Public Works Department (PWD). The ministry has remained with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath since Jitin Prasada moved to the Centre as a minister. Yogi government now at full ministerial strength With the latest expansion, the Yogi government has reached its full strength of 60 ministers. The cabinet now includes 23 cabinet ministers, 16 Ministers of State (Independent Charge) and 21 Ministers of State.
