The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert for a heatwave and temperatures reaching up to 45°C in several areas on Sunday, as severe heat is set to return to Rajasthan A heatwave has been witnessed across the country after some parts of India witnessed rain. On Saturday, temperatures above 40°C were recorded in several cities across Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Amravati and Wardha in Maharashtra were the hottest cities with temperatures reaching up to 46 °C. Meanwhile, Yavatmal and Brahmapuri of Maharashtra recorded 45.2°C. In Uttar Pradesh, Banda was the hottest city in the state on Saturday, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44.8°C. Meanwhile, ACs, coolers, and sprinklers were installed for animals and birds at the Jungle Safari near the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, at Sardar Patel Zoological Park. Arrangements for cold water and shade have also been made for tourists. The weather in Phalodi recorded the highest temperature in the state on Saturday at 44.8°C.
