In Katara Hills, Bhopal, former judge Giribala’s daughter-in-law and former actress Twisha Sharma committed suicide by hanging on May 11. The case came into discussion after her chat asking for help went viral, following which her family members created a huge ruckus and accused her in-laws of murder for dowry. Twisha Sharma was an actress who had been a part of many ad films and South Indian films. Now, after this incident, Dikshit Shetty, who had worked with Twisha in the film Mugguru Monagallu, recently claimed that Twisha wanted to study further. Actor Dikshit Shetty said in an interview given to Hindustan Times, “This is extremely shocking news. I always knew her as a dedicated and hardworking girl who had a passion for everything she did. She was full of life, and it is very surprising to know that she took her own life.” He further said, I didn’t even know she was married. We only worked together on one film and then she returned home. She told me that she wanted to pursue her Master’s degree and acting wasn’t what she expected. Her brother was in the army and she realised that it wasn’t for her, so she wanted to go back and settle down with her family. Finally, Dikshit says, I met her parents on the day of our film’s screening and they were all very good people. The news of her demise is extremely sad and shocking. Who was Twisha Sharma, what is the whole matter? 33-year-old Twisha Sharma was a resident of Noida. She started her modeling career after completing her MBA. She had also been Miss Pune. After this, she also worked in some films like Zara Sambhal Ke (2018), Mugguru Monagallu (2021). After not finding success in her acting career, she took a job at a company in Delhi. While living in Delhi, Twisha met Advocate Samarth Singh, a resident of Bhopal, through an online dating app. After being in a relationship for some time, they both got married in December 2025 with the blessings of their families. Just 5 months after the wedding, on May 12, Twisha’s family was informed that their daughter had passed away. The family filed a complaint accusing Samarth’s family of murder. Samarth has been underground since the incident. Twisha’s post-mortem was conducted in Bhopal, but the family refused to take her body without an investigation into the murder. Twisha’s mother-in-law and a former judge were arrested after the incident, but were later granted bail. Twisha’s WhatsApp chat has also gone viral. In it, she wrote, “I’m feeling very suffocated, Mom… These people won’t let me cry, nor will they give me a reason to laugh.” It is being reported that she had gone to the terrace to talk to her mother at night, and her body was found some time later. Twisha had also undergone an abortion just before her death. Meanwhile, her mother-in-law, Giribala, has claimed that Twisha used to take drugs and because of this, she would often stay out of the house for hours.
Now, the CCTV footage of that night’s incident has also surfaced, in which Twisha is seen going to the terrace alone. Immediately after this, some people were seen bringing her body down.
