Bigg Boss 11 winner and ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ actress Shilpa Shinde has found herself embroiled in controversy due to her recent podcast. In the podcast, the actress confessed that she had filed a fake sexual harassment complaint against her producers. As soon as the podcast was released, an NGO demanded action against Shilpa Shinde. Additionally, several celebrities including Hina Khan and Pooja Bedi are criticising the actress. Amidst the controversies, Shilpa Shinde clarified that she was on the verge of committing suicide at that time, but now she is unaffected by any kind of controversy. Shilpa also made objectionable gestures in the video. Shilpa Shinde stated in comedian Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast that she had filed a fake sexual harassment complaint against Sanjay Kohli, the producer of the TV show ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’. This led to her outstanding payment being cleared. NGO Demands Arrest An NGO working for the welfare of men has demanded the arrest of Shilpa Shinde. NCM India Council for Man Affair wrote from its official social media account, “Mumbai Police, please arrest Shilpa Shinde for filing a false complaint against her producer.” This is very shameful – Hina Khan Bigg Boss 11 co-contestant Hina Khan, severely criticising Shilpa, wrote from her official social media account, It is absolutely shameful to take advantage of being a woman to tarnish someone’s image or win a dispute. And everyone has the full right to protest against it and demand justice. I am extremely shocked to see this. But I want to talk about the “real victim” here. A respected person, who has a wife, daughter, and many women in his family. A hardworking producer, who has created many popular shows. He had to go through a difficult time. He further said, ‘As the actress herself admitted, her allegations were baseless. These allegations were used to gain an advantage, achieve victory, score points, and assert her claim without following legal procedures. Yet, the same producer gave the same person another chance in his show. Another launchpad, another opportunity, another support, to try and justify her false sexual harassment allegations. But what if that actress does it again?’ ‘After all, she has been given work again by the same person she had falsely accused earlier. I am extremely shocked to see all this. Now it seems like the joke is on all of us.’ Strict punishment should be given for this – Pooja Bedi Actress Pooja Bedi, in an interview with Variety India, criticised Shilpa Shinde, stating, ‘Any woman who uses laws designed to protect victims for revenge, personal gain, coercion, publicity, or to harm someone, betrays the true purpose of those laws.’ She further added, ‘False accusations not only ruin the lives of innocent people but also erode public trust in the claims of genuine victims. Such misuse of the law is absolutely unacceptable and should be severely punished.’ Shilpa Shinde Clarified as Controversy Grew After facing criticism and the controversy escalating following the podcast, Shilpa Shinde has released a video from her official social media account to clarify. She has said, ‘This PR (public relations) that is going on, these comments that are coming, I just want to tell those people that what you sow, so shall you reap. Those people who, without knowing or understanding the full story, are worrying about me, saying ‘Oh, you haven’t even gotten married yet,’ those people should worry about themselves. You are calling a truth-telling person a liar. I knew this was bound to happen, because the world never appreciates anything good.’ Further, she said, ‘I didn’t need to say this. Even after 10 years, I am doing this show. I could have said it earlier. So, for those who are saying I’m saying this for the show, no way. I don’t even need to rise in your eyes. I have already risen in my own eyes. No one asked me to say this, I couldn’t live with that lie. I had to say it today or tomorrow. What happened to me, you people don’t know. God forbid, something like this happens to you or your family. That time, I know I didn’t do it just for money. I had left the show, I had moved on from it.’ After Bigg Boss, I met a person who told me that his father committed suicide because things were said about me at my workplace that were not true. I was going to commit suicide, I had even written a suicide note, but I saw your video from Bigg Boss, you are inspiring to me. If I am alive, it is because of you. I was going to commit suicide – Shilpa Shinde Finally, Shilpa said, ‘Only I and the person against whom I complained know what I endured. The word ‘sorry’ is very small, but for the situation at that time, they also knew that it was the right thing to do. I was going to commit suicide at that time. But people would still laugh, abuse. I don’t want to rise in people’s eyes. No one supported me before, and I don’t expect it now either. I am ready to take all this.’ ‘Let those who are barking, bark, but my advice is that if you give the time you are spending to someone in need, it will be good. Nothing bad is going to happen to me. (Making objectionable gestures)’ Serious allegations against makers in 2016 Shilpa Shinde played the role of Angoori Bhabhi in the TV show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain in 2015.
