Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has been ordered to appear in court regarding a tragic stampede that occurred during a promotional event for his movie, “Pushpa 2: The Rule.” The Nampally Court in Hyderabad has issued official summons to the actor and 19 other individuals, directing them to attend a hearing in person on Monday, June 22. Stampede took place on Dec 4, 35-year-old woman dies The tragic incident took place on December 4, 2024, at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. A massive crowd of thousands of eager fans had gathered to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun when he arrived for the film’s premiere. The overwhelming turnout quickly led to chaos and a severe stampede. Tragically, a 35-year-old woman named Revathi lost her life due to suffocation, while her young son suffered serious injuries and had to be hospitalised. Case registered against Allu Arjun and team Following the tragedy, the Hyderabad Police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre’s management under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for negligence. According to the police, neither the actor’s team nor the theatre management had informed them about the visit in advance, which left the venue without proper crowd-control arrangements. Allu Arjun has been named as Accused Number 11 In the police chargesheet, Allu Arjun has been named as Accused Number 11 (A11), while the management of Sandhya Theatre has been listed as Accused Numbers 1 to 10 (A1 to A10). Allu Arjun was arrested on Dec 13, later got bail Shortly after the incident, on December 13, 2024, the actor was arrested by the Hyderabad City Police. However, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail later that same day. Allu Arjun has since expressed deep grief over the woman’s death and announced financial assistance for her grieving family. Allu Arjun to be seen in “Raaka” On the work front, Allu Arjun will next be seen in director Atlee’s highly anticipated film, “Raaka.” The movie is expected to star Deepika Padukone in the lead role, alongside other prominent actors like Rashmika Mandanna, Mrunal Thakur, and Janhvi Kapoor, though official confirmations from the makers are still awaited.
