In the Sandhya Theatre stampede case in Hyderabad, the Nampally Court has deferred the hearing against actor Allu Arjun. The actor is now scheduled to appear before the court virtually on Monday. Although the court had earlier issued a summons directing him to appear in person, his legal team informed the court that he is currently shooting for a film in Mumbai and had sought permission to attend the hearing via video conferencing. Police have named Allu Arjun as accused number 11 in the charge sheet of this case. A woman had died in a stampede during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2’ in December 2024. The court had ordered the actor and other accused to appear in person on June 22 for the hearing of this case, which involves negligence in crowd management and security failure. Police have filed a detailed charge sheet in court regarding this accident. According to an ANI report, a total of 23 people have been named in this charge sheet. In this, people associated with the management of Sandhya Theatre have been made accused number 1 to 10 (A1 to A10), while Allu Arjun has been listed as accused number 11 (A11). The court, moving forward in the case, has issued notices to 19 accused and directed them to appear before the court. Accident happened in December 2024
This entire incident is from December 4, 2024. At that time, a benefit show was organised at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on the occasion of the release of the film ‘Pushpa 2’. According to the police investigation, Allu Arjun himself reached the theater on the day of the incident. A huge crowd of fans rushed towards the theater’s entry gate to see him, which increased the pressure there and the security arrangements completely failed. The charge sheet states that the negligence of theater officials, security guards, and event management personnel was the main reason for the accident. However, after this incident, Allu Arjun contacted the victim’s family and also provided financial and medical assistance for the treatment of the injured child. Allu Arjun was arrested at 12 PM on December 13 in the stampede case that occurred on December 4. After his arrest, he was produced before a local court at 4 PM, from where he was sent to 14-day judicial custody. Allu had appealed to the Telangana High Court for interim bail. At 5 PM, he was granted interim bail on a personal bond of ₹50,000. During this time, Allu was taken to Chanchalguda Central Jail. The actor was released from Chanchalguda Central Jail the next day, Saturday morning, around 6:30 AM. During this time, Allu remained in custody for about 18 hours. Held a press conference after release After his release, Allu Arjun held a press conference and said, ‘This was all an accident. I had gone to the cinema hall with my family to watch a movie. This incident happened outside. I have no direct connection with this incident. I am completely with the woman’s family, and I will help them in any way I can.’ Allu Arjun further said, ‘I have been to that cinema hall more than 30 times in the last 20 years. But something like this has never happened before. This happened purely by misfortune. I am very sorry about this incident.’
