Pune builder killed before wedding:Fiancée throws him into 400-foot gorge with lover; both arrested

A shocking murder case has come to light in Pune, where police have arrested a woman and her alleged lover for the death of her fiancé. The victim, 26-year-old businessman and trekker Ketan Vishal Agrawal, had gone trekking with his fiancée, Siya Goyal, on June 18. His body was later found in a deep gorge near Lohagad Fort. Police say Siya Goyal and her alleged lover, 22-year-old Chetan Chaudhary, planned the murder and pushed Ketan into a nearly 400-foot-deep gorge before trying to make it look like an accident. Both were arrested on Tuesday. Ketan, a resident of Gahunge in Pune district, was a director in his family’s real estate company. Siya is the daughter of a spice merchant from Pune. The couple were due to get married later this year at a palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Ketan had gone to celebrate his fiancée’s pre-birthday According to Pune Police, Ketan went to Lohagad Fort with his fiance on the morning of June 18 to celebrate her pre-birthday. They fell into the gorge around 10:30 AM. Sia had told Lonavala Rural Police that Ketan was taking photos in strong winds during trekking when his foot slipped. Local residents, police, and the rescue team recovered Ketan’s body the same day. Initially, the police stated that Ketan fell into the gorge while taking photos amidst strong winds at Lohagad Fort. Fiance Siya Goyal had told Lonavala Rural Police that Ketan’s foot slipped while exploring the fort and he fell into the gorge. Based on her statement, the police had registered a case of accidental death (ADR). The investigation revealed that Ketan and Siya were to get married in a royal style in November this year. Both families had also started wedding preparations. A palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan, was booked for their wedding. Two chartered private planes were also arranged for the guests. According to media reports, the wedding was estimated to cost around 17 crore rupees. Siya didn’t want to marry, made a plan with her lover According to the police, the investigation revealed that Siya Goyal had a love affair with Chetan Chaudhary, a resident of Kondhwa, Pune. Siya did not want to marry Ketan and felt that Ketan had become an obstacle in her relationship with Chetan. According to the police, the two conspired together to murder Ketan. As per the plan, Siya took Ketan to Lohagad Fort on the pretext of sightseeing, and later Chetan was also called there. After this, both of them pushed Ketan down from the fort. Siya arrested after questioning Chetan Based on suspicion, the local Crime Branch took Chetan into custody. After questioning Chetan, Siya Goyal was also arrested. Police said that a case of murder and criminal conspiracy was registered on Tuesday based on the complaint of Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal. Police are now engaged in connecting the entire chain of events, collecting forensic evidence, and finding out whether anyone else was involved in the conspiracy or not. Lohagad Fort is associated with the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire. It is among the 12 UNESCO World Heritage forts of Maharashtra.
