We had no idea that some people would associate it with the name of an old Turkic ruler who attacked India and consider it negative.” He further said, “I believe that such old matters should be left behind. When we named our son, we had no such thought in our minds. He also reads about them and I think he was a fan of the Mongol Taimur…” However, in the same interview, Kareena also mentioned the neighbor. The actress said that a boy named Taimur lived in Saif’s neighborhood, and he was influenced by him, and the name stayed in his mind. She said that ‘Taimur’ means ‘iron’ and he found this name to be a symbol of a strong personality. For this reason, he chose this name for his son. There was a controversy regarding the name Saif and Kareena’s son Taimur was born on December 20, 2016. After the name became public, a controversy erupted on social media, linking it to the Central Asian ruler Timur. At that time, Saif and Kareena had to face criticism. As the controversy escalated, Saif also considered changing his son’s name to ‘Faiz’. For this, he had even prepared a draft of a press note. But Kareena flatly refused to change the name.
