Ram Mandir Trust set to appoint new general secretary:RSS leader Bajrang Bagra leads race at second meeting after donation theft

A second meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will be held on Wednesday after the Ram Mandir donation theft case came to light. The trust is expected to announce new trustees for three vacant posts, including the post of general secretary. Acting General Secretary Krishna Mohan and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) General Secretary Bajrang Lal Bagra are the frontrunners for the permanent general secretary’s post. The meeting, scheduled for 4 pm, will be chaired by Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das. Treasurer Govind Dev Giri and Shankaracharya Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati have already arrived in Ayodhya. At the trust’s meeting on 6 July, the resignations of Champat Rai and Dr Anil Mishra were accepted. Retired IFS officer Krishna Mohan was appointed acting general secretary. Champat Rai and Anil Mishra had submitted their resignations on 26 June. The trustee’s post held by Bimalendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, head of the Ayodhya royal family, also fell vacant following his death. As a result, three positions in the trust are currently vacant. Meanwhile, the process of selecting a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee the Ram Temple’s administration has reached its final stage. The new CEO is expected to take charge after Raksha Bandhan (28 August). Around 5,500 candidates from across the country have applied online for the post.
