Randeep Hooda joins Assam flood relief drive:Serves langar to displaced families; Kartik Aaryan donated ₹1 crore

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda took part in a flood relief drive organised by the NGO Global Sikhs in Sivasagar, Assam, on Saturday. During the campaign, he distributed ration kits and other essential supplies to families affected by the floods. Randeep also visited Gurudwara Sahib in Sivasagar, where he offered prayers for the safety and well-being of those impacted by the floods. He later joined volunteers from the NGO in carrying out relief work in the affected areas. During the ‘langar’ service, Randeep Hooda spoke to news agency ANI, stating that affected families from surrounding areas have arrived at Shivsagar Railway Station. He informed that food has been prepared and delivered to people every day for the past seven days. He added that he has been associated with Global Sikhs for many years. Randeep Hooda appealed to people to help those in need by directly participating in relief efforts, by praying, or by providing financial assistance to relief organizations. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), the death toll from the floods has risen to 82. The disaster has affected lakhs of people across the state, with several districts still facing severe flooding. Bollywood celebrities extend support Several Bollywood celebrities have stepped forward to support flood-affected families in Assam, including Randeep Hooda, Salman Khan, Kartik Aaryan, and Alia Bhatt. Salman Khan has launched a large-scale relief campaign through his charitable foundation, Being Human. According to a Mid-Day report, the organisation is working with its local fan club to provide aid on the ground. In the first phase of the drive, volunteers are distributing cooked meals, drinking water, medicines, sanitary pads, mosquito repellents, and other essential supplies in flood-hit areas. Actor Kartik Aaryan has donated ₹1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked the actor on social media for his contribution during the crisis. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt expressed concern over the situation, saying that Assam faces devastating floods almost every year, yet long-term preparedness remains a challenge. She also said she would soon share details of verified relief organisations so people could contribute to the ongoing relief efforts.
