A case of misconduct involving a female official has been reported during the national census exercise in Bengaluru. Police have registered a case against the accused for allegedly abusing the enumerator and obstructing her official duties. According to the police, the incident took place on 30 April at around 4 pm, when the female enumerator visited a residence in Mallasandra, in the T Dasarahalli area, to carry out census work. It was during this visit that the accused allegedly misbehaved with her. Complaint and allegations The complaint was filed by Census Supervisory Officer Yogesh O G. He stated that the accused, identified as Anand Muniyappa, attempted to halt the census process, verbally abused the enumerator, and refused to provide the required information. He further alleged that the accused prevented the official from carrying out her duties. Police have registered a case under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant provisions of the Census Act. The case has been lodged at Bagalagunte Police Station, and an investigation is currently underway. Officials have stated that further action will follow based on the findings. Meanwhile, the Bengaluru North City Corporation has urged residents to cooperate with census officials to ensure the smooth and accurate completion of the exercise.
