Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump spoke by phone on Wednesday. PM Modi shared the information in a post on X. He said that the two leaders reviewed India-US cooperation in trade, defence, energy, critical technologies and other areas. They agreed to remain in regular contact to advance the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. Modi and Trump also discussed regional and international issues. The two leaders exchanged views on efforts to promote global peace and security. The two spoke for around 40 minutes about West Asia, Hormuz and India-US cooperation. Modi and Trump met at the G7 Summit in France Modi and Trump met in France on June 17 during the G7 Summit. Trump said: “As long as I am President, there will always be a good friend of Modi in the White House. If India is attacked and Modi is the leader, we will help them.” During their bilateral meeting, Modi said the safety of Indians at sea was important and hoped their safety would be ensured in any deal with Iran.
