Two people died in Odisha within 24 hours while making social media reels. They included a boy and a snake catcher. A boy making a reel near a railway track in Boudh district on Friday evening was hit by a train. In Puri district, 28-year-old Tapan Kumar Pradhan was bitten several times by a snake while shooting a reel with a cobra. According to the police, the boy was making a reel on the Khurda-Balangir railway line. Pradhan was first taken to a private hospital. He later died at the Puri District Headquarters Hospital. Boy was making a reel on railway track The deceased boy was a resident of Talupali village in Boudh district. The village falls under the jurisdiction of Baunsiuni police station. The accident occurred on Friday evening. The police said the boy had previously been caught making a reel while lying under a train on the railway track. His family was warned at the time. The family was also informed about the consequences of this dangerous activity. Despite this, the boy returned to the railway track to make another reel and died. Snake catcher dies while shooting a reel with a cobra The second incident took place in Kanthapur village in Puri district. The village falls under the jurisdiction of Puri Sadar police station. Twenty-eight-year-old Tapan Kumar Pradhan was making a reel on Friday afternoon while handling a cobra in the verandah of his home. During this, the snake bit him several times on his fingers, elbow and upper arm. Subendu Malik, a trainer who teaches snake-catching techniques, provided this information. Pradhan used to share videos of himself catching venomous snakes on Instagram. He was first taken to a nearby private hospital. He was then shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Puri. Shortly after he arrived there, doctors declared him dead.
