SP chief Akhilesh Yadav will go to Kolkata on Wednesday to meet outgoing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and this will be the first visit by any opposition party leader after the West Bengal election results. While addressing a press conference in Kolkata on Tuesday, Mamata Banerjee said, “Akhilesh requested me if he could come today itself, but I told him to come tomorrow. So, he will come tomorrow. Everyone will come one by one. My goal is very clear. I will strengthen the INDIA alliance.” The assembly election results of 5 states including West Bengal came out on Monday. In Bengal, BJP has won 207 out of 294 seats for the first time. BJP government is going to be formed in the state for the first time. TMC could win only 80 seats. After 15 years, power has slipped from Mamata’s hands. Akhilesh stayed away from Bengal elections Akhilesh Yadav stayed away from the West Bengal elections. He neither held any rally in West Bengal nor went there. Through press conferences and social media, he kept making statements in favor of Mamata Banerjee and kept posting on social media sites. On Monday, after the Bengal election results came out, Akhilesh made three posts on X and targeted the central government and BJP. Akhilesh called BJP’s victory a fraud in his first post In his first post, Akhilesh called BJP’s victory in Bengal a fraud. He wrote couplet that translates in English, “Every fraudulent victory has an expiry date, this very fact is ‘the foundation of truth’.” Second post – There was rigging in UP in 2022 too
Akhilesh posted a video of Mamata Banerjee. In which Mamata claimed that during election counting, CRPF pushed and shoved her. She was kicked. The SP chief wrote, will they now take ruling politics even below the depths? This is an extremely ‘dark day’ in the country’s political history. The entire country is outraged today and democracy is anguished. He kept on writing, the misuse of central forces that happened today in Bengal during vote counting in the name of electoral system, exactly the same manipulation was done in most places during the 2022 UP Assembly elections, of which the Kannauj assembly constituencies were direct witnesses. Then this same condemnable model was repeated in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Farrukhabad. Everyone knows what has happened and what the truth is and how public opinion has been openly looted,’ he wrote. Third Post – Chief Minister will also be made arbitrarily
Akhilesh targeted BJP over women’s reservation and wrote, when results in West Bengal have been declared arbitrarily, then according to BJP tradition, the Chief Minister will also be made arbitrarily. That’s why there is a special demand that this time the ‘chit’ should be drawn in the name of those who have played a symbolic role of patriarchal negative thinking and exploitation towards women since ancient times. He further said, “Those whom even Lohia ji had advised to be considered as the ideal of Indian women. It is hoped that this will be implemented in the context of ‘women’s reservation’.” Had met Mamata Banerjee in January
Akhilesh Yadav had earlier gone to West Bengal on January 27 with his wife and Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav. He had then met Mamata Banerjee. After the meeting, he had promised to support Mamata Banerjee in the elections. He had also announced the party’s support in favor of Mamata Banerjee and decided not to field a candidate on even a single seat. Akhilesh stayed away from Bengal elections
Akhilesh Yadav stayed away from the West Bengal elections. He neither held any rally in West Bengal nor went there. Through press conferences and social media, he kept giving statements in favor of Mamata Banerjee and kept posting on social media sites. Experts say that there may be discussions between Akhilesh Yadav and Mamata Banerjee regarding the leadership of the INDI alliance. Mamata herself has given indications of this. An experiment can be tried with new leadership in UP and Punjab elections. If the results are positive, it could benefit in the 2029 elections. Akhilesh gave 2 seats to TMC in UP polls in 2022 In the 2022 elections, Akhilesh Yadav had given two seats in UP to the Trinamool Congress. Now Akhilesh is going to West Bengal with the message of INDI alliance unity in states as well. Actually, due to the INDI alliance fighting separately, BJP is eliminating regional parties one by one. BJP first defeated Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi and now Mamata Banerjee. BJP’s victory has created turmoil in the INDI alliance.
