West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday urged people not to allow “intellectual Naxals”, the “tukde-tukde gang” and cockroaches to thrive, and called on them to stand with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Adhikari made the remarks while speaking to reporters after performing the bhoomi pujan for a BJP party office in Tamluk. This was the second time in two days that Adhikari had targeted the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). On Sunday, at an event in Ramnagar, he said evils such as cockroaches and bedbugs were trying to spread like the coronavirus and could be eliminated only with the insecticide spray Hit. Adhikari’s allegations against Mamata Banerjee ‘Mamata wanted to turn Bengal into Greater Bangladesh’ Adhikari alleged that the Mamata Banerjee government had pursued appeasement politics. He claimed that Banerjee had no understanding of nationalism and was planning to turn the state into “Greater Bangladesh”. ‘Previous governments tried to erase Bengal’s heritage’ Adhikari alleged that the Left, which ruled the state for 34 years, and the Trinamool Congress (TMC), which remained in power for 15 years, had tried to erase people’s heritage and culture. TMC tried to stop students from joining NCC Adhikari alleged that the TMC government had tried to prevent students in educational institutions from enrolling in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and had instead introduced the ‘Jai Hind Vahini’. He said participation in the NCC could have helped students secure selection as Agniveers in the armed forces. Why is Suvendu targeting the Cockroach Party? Two reasons… 1. Cockroach Janata Party has taken to the streets over SIR The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) called for several protests and demonstrations in October 2026, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The party announced a nationwide agitation from Mumbai on October 2. Protests were held at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park on October 3, while demonstrations were also held at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The party subsequently called for another protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10. 2. CJP held a 36-day protest at Jantar Mantar The Cockroach Janata Party had earlier staged a protest at Jantar Mantar from June 20 to July 25, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak case. The protest lasted 36 days, during which activist Sonam Wangchuk also joined the agitation and went on a hunger strike. On July 20, the CJP also organised a march towards Parliament. The protest ended on July 25 after Pradhan resigned.
