Actress Neetu Kapoor recently spoke openly about the difficult period following the demise of her husband, Rishi Kapoor. In a conversation on Soha Ali Khan’s YouTube show, Neetu revealed that she had a mental breakdown after Rishi Kapoor’s demise in 2020. She shared that after Rishi Kapoor’s passing, she would stay awake all night for several months. Many times, she couldn’t sleep the entire night. Gradually, her condition became such that she couldn’t sleep without consuming alcohol. During the show, Neetu Kapoor was present with her daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. In the conversation, Neetu said that people were misunderstanding her. When she returned to TV shows and films, many people on social media commented that she had returned to work immediately after her husband’s demise. This deeply saddened her. Neetu stated that people couldn’t understand her compulsion. She was trying to cope and come out of the pain. Neetu Kapoor was very nervous during ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ Neetu revealed that director Karan Johar inspired her to start working again. She said that she was very nervous during the shooting of the film ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’, but this experience helped her become strong again. Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor got married on January 22, 1980. They worked together in many films in the 1970s and 1980s. They have two children, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Ranbir Kapoor. Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with leukemia in 2018. He spent about a year in New York for treatment. Even after returning to India, he worked in some films, but due to his deteriorating health, he was admitted to the hospital in December 2019. He passed away on April 30, 2020, at the age of 67. His last film, Sharmaji Namkeen, was released posthumously in 2022.
