The municipal corporation demolished a Trinamool Congress (TMC) office and a clock tower with a bulldozer in Kolkata on Thursday. Residents had complained about it being illegal a long time ago. According to The Hindu, the TMC office and tower were built by encroaching on a playground. Earlier, on May 5, the day after the election results, a TMC office in Kolkata’s New Market area was also demolished. Court declared the office illegal in 2025 The court had already ordered its demolition in 2025, but authorities did not take any action at that time. This tower was inaugurated by former minister Arup Biswas, who recently lost the assembly elections. Bulldozer runs on TMC office in Kolkata’s New Market On May 5, near Kolkata’s New Market area, a crowd of BJP supporters vandalised shops carrying party flags. During this, a bulldozer was also run over the TMC office. Meanwhile, late at night in Asansol, a TMC office caught fire. The cause of the fire could not be determined. Apart from this, a TMC office in Jagatballabhpur was set on fire. The party had accused BJP supporters of arson.
