PM Modi will participate in the third India-Nordic Summit in Oslo on Tuesday, where he is set to hold talks with leaders of Nordic countries to deepen cooperation in trade, technology, climate and strategic sectors. Talks with five Nordic leaders During the summit, Modi will meet the prime ministers of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. Discussions are expected to cover trade, investment, emerging technologies, climate change and global security. Focus on green partnership A major focus of the visit will be cooperation in green energy, blue economy, green shipping and climate technology. India and Nordic nations are looking to expand collaboration in clean energy and environment-related projects. Space and Arctic cooperation The space sector will also feature prominently in discussions, with plans to strengthen ties between Indian Space Research Organisation and Norway’s space agencies. Both sides are also expected to discuss partnerships in Arctic research and satellite technology. PM Modi attends business summit in Oslo On Monday, Modi took part in the India-Norway Business and Research Summit in Oslo, where he met heads of major Norwegian companies and research institutions. Talks covered sectors such as energy, green hydrogen, shipping, health technology, robotics, education and research. Modi said India is emerging as a major and reliable destination for investment and innovation, while presenting business opportunities in the country. Trade target and strategic ties India and Norway agreed to elevate bilateral relations to a “Green Strategic Partnership”, aimed at boosting cooperation in clean technology, marine economy, climate action and sustainable shipping. The two countries also set a target to double bilateral trade by 2030. Discussions were held on attracting $100 billion in investment and creating one million jobs in India. Modi and Jonas Gahr Støre also agreed to expand cooperation in space, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fisheries, maritime security and digital technology.
