In Delhi’s posh area Kailash Hills, on Wednesday morning, the 22-year-old daughter of a senior Income Tax Department officer was murdered after an intruder broke into the house. The accused raped her and then strangled her to death with a mobile phone charging cable. At the time of the incident, she was alone at home. Her parents had gone to the gym. Police have arrested 19-year-old domestic help Rahul Meena in this case. He had been dismissed from work 6 weeks ago over a money transaction matter. Entered the house with a duplicate key Police stated – Rahul was well aware of the family’s daily routine. He knew that the victim’s parents go to the gym in the morning. He also knew where the duplicate key for the servants was kept hidden outside the house. He entered the house using this key. He had lost a lot of money in games and had also borrowed money from other domestic workers in the neighborhood. He was not returning the money when the workers asked for it. When this matter reached the IRS officer, he fired him from the job. Had fled with two lakh cash and jewelry Accused Rahul entered the house at 6:30 AM. He stayed inside for 40-45 minutes and came out of the house around 7:15 AM. He can be seen in the CCTV camera while entering and leaving the house. In the footage, it was seen that Meena was wearing black pants and a yellow shirt while entering the house. After the incident, he changed his clothes and was seen going out in white pants and the same yellow shirt with a bag hanging on his shoulder. CCTV cameras were also installed at the entry gate of the victim’s room. Live footage from these was available on the mobile phones of both the victim and her father. Committed rape in Alwar 8 hours before the murder After the incident in Delhi, when Alwar police investigated the record of accused Rahul, it was found that on the night of April 21 at around 11 pm, he had entered the house of a married woman in Rajgarh police station area and raped her. The victim told the police in her report that Rahul Meena had taken her husband on his bike to a wedding ceremony. The husband stayed there. During this time, the accused came back and entered her house and raped her by threatening to kill her. When the husband returned, the wife went with him and filed a report. The victim was talented and of humble nature: MLA Greater Kailash MLA Shikha Roy said that the victim was a talented girl. I have known her personally for many years and have seen her grow up as an honest, disciplined and exceptionally talented girl. Shikha Roy further said that she was very intelligent in studies. After completing her engineering studies from IIT Delhi, she was preparing for UPSC with full dedication. She was also a good dancer and participated in cultural activities. She was very humble by nature and stayed connected with people around her.
