House in Delhi’s Mukundpur collapses following cylinder blast:6 injured in accident, several residents feared trapped

Six people were injured after a single-storey house collapsed following an LPG cylinder explosion in Delhi’s Mukundpur area on Tuesday, officials said. According to Delhi Police, all six injured persons were rushed for medical treatment. Authorities said their exact condition would be determined after medical examinations. The building where the blast occurred was reportedly being used for utensil-polishing work. Station House Officer (SHO) Giriraj said the explosion caused the collapse of a single-storey structure spread across approximately 250 square yards. “Due to an LPG cylinder blast, a single-storey house has collapsed. Search and rescue operations are continuing,” the officer said. The Delhi Fire Service confirmed receiving information about the explosion and subsequent collapse. Firefighters and rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene and are continuing search operations to ensure no one remains trapped under the debris. Separate cylinder blast injures 4 in East Delhi In a separate incident earlier, at least four people were injured in a cylinder blast in the Ajit Nagar area of Shahdara in East Delhi. According to Shahdara Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajendra Prasad Meena, the incident occurred around 1:30 pm at a house in Gandhi Nagar. Following reports of a fire, Head Constable Rahul and Constable Kuldeep rushed to the spot and found several people trapped on the first floor. The officers rescued a woman, her husband, and children before shifting them to a hospital for treatment. DCP Meena said the preliminary investigation suggests that a leaking gas cylinder pipe may have caused the explosion. Police and fire officials are investigating both incidents.
