The trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Pratham Sankalp was unveiled on Saturday at a grand event held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Director Nitesh Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra, and the film’s ensemble cast attended the launch, where the makers also announced that the trailer will premiere globally on digital platforms on July 24. The event was attended by Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, along with Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Vivek Oberoi and several other cast members. One of the highlights of the evening was Ranbir greeting Sunny Deol by touching his feet and seeking his blessings, a gesture that drew applause from the audience. The nearly four-minute trailer offered a glimpse into the film’s grand scale, featuring stunning visuals, an expansive recreation of the epic world, and the first detailed look at its lead characters. The makers also confirmed that Ramayana: Part 1 will release in cinemas during Diwali 2026, while Part 2 is scheduled to hit theatres on Diwali 2027. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and poet Kumar Vishwas were among the special guests at the event. Baba Ramdev also took to the stage to perform a live yoga demonstration, adding a unique moment to the trailer launch. Meanwhile, Baba Ramdev, laughing, said that when he first heard that the budget of this film was 4000 crore rupees, he went into a trance upon hearing it. On this, poet Kumar Vishwas, who was present on stage, quipped, “Swami ji, your own Patanjali empire is worth 2 lakh crore rupees.” At Kumar Vishwas’s remark, the entire hall, including Ranbir Kapoor, erupted in laughter. Meanwhile, Baba Ramdev also shared insights related to yoga and spirituality in his unique style, which made Ranbir Kapoor smile. During the event, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi went on stage to greet Baba Ramdev and also touched his feet to seek blessings. During the event, Ranbir Kapoor was wearing black glasses. Explaining the reason, he said, “First of all, I would like to say one thing, I apologize to all of you for wearing these black glasses. I have an eye infection, but today on this auspicious occasion, my heart is filled only with affection (love).” Sunny Deol said, ‘I thank Waheguru ji for giving me the opportunity to play the character of Hanuman ji. I will try my best to portray it correctly, because playing the character of Hanuman ji is not easy, but it will be a lot of fun, because he is mischievous, innocent, powerful, loved by all of you, and a devotee of Lord Rama.’ Important points related to the film ‘Ramayana’ – In the film, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Raavan, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Arun Govil, who played the role of Ram in the 1987 TV show ‘Ramayana’, will be seen in the role of King Dasharatha in this film. The total budget of the film is reportedly around 4,000 crore rupees, which makes it one of the most expensive films in Indian cinema. The film is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari, who made the highest-grossing Indian film, Dangal. The film’s music is being composed by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman and Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer. The film is being produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, DNEG, and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The film will be released on IMAX. The visual effects (VFX) work for the film is being handled by Oscar-winning studio DNEG and Prime Focus. The film will be released in two parts. The first part will be released in theaters on Diwali 2026, and the second part on Diwali 2027.
