Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh said he wanted to perform in Bihar last year, but the concert could not be organised because the administration did not take responsibility for crowd management. During a recent Instagram Live session, Diljit said that managing thousands of people at a concert is a major responsibility. Without adequate arrangements, it would have been difficult for the organisers to handle the crowd. Referring to security arrangements at his Delhi concert, he praised the cooperation extended by the Delhi Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Bihar concert cancelled after administration declines crowd-management responsibility Diljit said he had tried to organise a concert in Bihar last year, but the plans did not work out because of concerns over crowd management. He stressed that proper security arrangements and administrative support are essential for holding large-scale events. When a show was proposed in Bihar, officials there asked the organisers whether they would take responsibility for crowd management. Diljit made it clear that an artist or private team could not take responsibility for such a large logistical arrangement, as this was the local administration’s job. The show could not go ahead because the administration was not prepared. Permission for Delhi concert was also granted on the second attempt There had earlier also been considerable uncertainty over the organisation of Diljit’s show in Delhi. On 22 October, the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District), Delhi Police, rejected the concert application, citing security concerns. The police had said that permission for the large event could not be granted because of specific security inputs received from intelligence agencies and the law-and-order duties during the ongoing festive season. Later, Diljit announced on social media that his Delhi concert would take place on the scheduled date. The concert was approved after several rounds of meetings between senior Delhi Police officials and the organisers. The organisers had presented the police with a detailed action plan for security arrangements and crowd control. At Delhi concert, Diljit compared female police officer to his mother After this, Diljit Dosanjh invited a female police officer on stage at his Delhi concert, honoured her and said that seeing her reminded the singer of his mother. Hugging the police officer, Diljit said, “Give her a resounding salute. If you were not there, we could not feel safe. You have contributed so much-thank you so much. I can see my mother in you. I get to meet her only once or twice a year. Seeing you makes me feel as if my mother is standing here. I spoke to Mum today and she said, ‘Take care of yourself.’ Today, my mother is standing beside me.” Aura India Tour to be held in 7 major cities After a successful start in Delhi, Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Aura India Tour 2026’ will travel to other major cities across the country. As part of the tour, he will hold live concerts in Chandigarh, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Indore.
