South Indian actor Jr NTR has reacted angrily to an AI-generated morphed video of the song ‘Chuttamalle’ from his film ‘Devara: Part 1’. The song was filmed with Janhvi Kapoor. In a post on X, he wrote, “This is extremely disgusting, shameful, and condemnable. In a country where women are respected as mothers and goddesses, and ‘Matru Devo Bhava’ is part of our culture, some people are using AI to insult a woman in this manner.” Warning to those who made the morphed video Jr NTR issued a strong warning to those who made and circulated the morphed ‘Chuttamalle’ video. He wrote, “I will take every possible legal action against those who made and circulated this morphed video of ‘Chuttamalle’. I will not spare any of them.” The actor appealed to people not to promote such content. He wrote that he appealed to people not to watch, share or react to such content. He said that what had happened to someone else today could happen to their mother, sister, wife or daughter tomorrow. He went on to write, “This is an extremely serious matter. I appeal to all state governments and the Government of India to formulate strict rules and take action against the misuse of AI.” ‘Chuttamalle’ Song and Film ‘Chuttamalle’ is a romantic song from the 2024 action drama film ‘Devara: Part 1’. It featured Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. The song became popular for its melody and the chemistry between the two lead actors. The Story of ‘Devara: Part 1’ Directed by Koratala Siva, ‘Devara: Part 1’ is set in a coastal village in the 1980s. In the film, a powerful sea warrior takes on illegal maritime smuggling after discovering that it is harming innocent people. Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan played key roles in the film. Prakash Raj, Sreekanth and Shine Tom Chacko were also part of the film. On the work front, Jr NTR is working on his upcoming film ‘Dragon’. Several celebrities have been targeted by AI-generated posts It is worth noting that several celebrities have fallen victim to AI-generated content, including Rashmika Mandanna, Nora Fatehi and Madhuri Dixit. In May 2026, South actress Rukmini Vasanth lashed out over fake AI-generated videos and pictures. Rukmini shared a note on her X account, writing, “My team and I have seen some AI-generated images on social media that are being claimed to be of me. I want to make it clear that these images are entirely fake and fabricated. Creating and circulating such edited images is highly irresponsible. It is also a serious violation of someone’s privacy.” She further wrote, “We are taking this matter seriously. Legal and cybercrime action is being initiated against those who created and circulated these images. I appeal to everyone not to share or promote such content.” In May, a video of Madhuri Dixit wearing a revealing black dress went viral. It was later declared to be AI-generated and completely fake by a fact-check and Twitter (X)’s Community Note. In November 2023, a video of Rashmika went viral, showing her entering a lift wearing black clothes. The video was entirely fake. The original video featured British-Indian social media influencer Zara Patel. Using AI deepfake technology, Rashmika’s face had been superimposed over Zara’s. Delhi Police also arrested one accused in the case. A fake video of Nora Fatehi also surfaced in January 2024, in which her face and voice were misused to endorse a clothing brand. She herself confirmed on Instagram that it was fake by posting about it.
