Blast outside BSF headquarters in Jalandhar, 1 injured:Scooter suspected to be carrying explosives; explosion heard up to 1 km away

An explosion occurred near the Border Security Force (BSF) headquarters in Jalandhar. The sound was heard up to nearly 1 kilometre away, causing panic in the surrounding area. The Activa scooter in which the blast occurred is reportedly said to belong to a Flipkart delivery worker. At around 8:15 pm, the delivery worker had parked the scooter and gone inside the BSF headquarters to deliver a parcel. During this time, the scooter exploded behind him. Sources suggest that an explosive device may have been placed in the scooter, although there has been no official confirmation. Panic in nearby market area At the time of the incident, people were shopping in a vegetable market located on the road leading to Gurunanakpura, adjacent to the BSF headquarters. The sudden loud explosion startled people, leaving them confused and alarmed for some time. Investigation underway Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and began an investigation.
