The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026 on Thursday, November 5. 617 candidates who have cleared the mains examination will now appear for the personality test (interview). The mains examination was conducted from August 21 to 30, the commission said in a statement. The Civil Services Examination is held in three stages — preliminary, mains and interview — to recruit candidates for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other services. Candidates must keep original documents ready Candidates who have qualified for the interview must produce original certificates to support their eligibility and reservation claims. These include documents related to age, educational qualifications, community, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). Candidates seeking reservation or relaxation benefits under the SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD and ex-servicemen categories must produce certificates issued on or before February 27, 2026, the closing date for applications for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination. The UPSC has advised candidates to keep all required documents, including the travel allowance (TA) form, ready for verification during the interview. Interview dates to be announced later The dates for the personality tests will be announced in due course. The interviews will be held at the UPSC office at Dholpur House on Shahjahan Road in New Delhi. E-summon letters will be made available on the commission’s official websites — upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in. No physical summon letters will be issued. Candidates facing difficulty downloading their e-summon letters can contact the commission at 011-40303444 or 011-24041001, or email csm-upsc@nic.in. The UPSC has said requests to change the interview date or time will ordinarily not be accepted. Candidates have been advised to regularly check the commission’s website for updates.
