Chief Minister launches ‘My Daughter – My Pride’ campaign

A special campaign will run from August 15th to January 26th, with a Muktidham in every village and toilets for every girl child in schools.

VB-G Ram Ji Mission will give new impetus to rural development, employment and infrastructure will be expanded with Rs 6,855 crore.

6,671 girls’ toilets, 6,524 Muktidham-waiting rooms, recharge pits to be built in 10,027 defunct borewells

Work will be approved with the approval of Gram Panchayat and Gram Sabha.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today launched the state-wide ‘Meri Beti-Mera Abhiman’ campaign under Vikasit Bharat-Rozgar and Livelihood Guarantee Mission (Rural) VB-G Ram Ji at a press conference held at Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur. He announced that during this special campaign, which will run from August 15, 2026, to January 26, 2027, construction of Muktidham and waiting room will be ensured in every village of the state, and toilets for girls will be constructed in all government schools in rural areas. The Chief Minister said that this campaign is a historic step of the state government towards strengthening the respect of daughters, rural cleanliness, social dignity and basic facilities.

         Chief Minister Shri Sai informed that under the campaign, 6,671 girls’ toilets will be constructed in government schools in rural areas at a cost of Rs 286.85 crore. The cost of each toilet has been fixed at Rs 4.30 lakh. Similarly, Muktidhams along with waiting rooms will be constructed in 6,524 villages of the state at a cost of Rs 391.44 crore, whose per unit cost will be Rs 6 lakh. Apart from this, 549 Muktidhams will also be constructed at a cost of Rs 18.22 crore, whose per unit cost has been fixed at Rs 3.32 lakh.

         The Chief Minister stated that, giving top priority to water conservation, sand filters and recharge structures will be constructed in 10,027 closed or defunct borewells across the state at a cost of ₹52.14 crore. The cost per unit has been estimated at approximately ₹52,000. This will increase groundwater levels, better conserve rainwater, and help alleviate the drinking water crisis in rural areas. He directed officials to immediately approve and begin all these works on a priority basis.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the VB-G Ram Ji Yojana , the largest campaign for rural development and employment,
        has been implemented across the country since July 1, 2026. All development works under the scheme will be selected with the approval of the Gram Sabha, and the wage rate has been increased to ₹300 per day. He stated that this scheme will be a powerful medium to reach every village with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s pledge of “Developed India 2047.” He stated that in the current financial year, the state will receive approximately ₹6,855 crore through MNREGA and VB-G Ram Ji, which is the largest financial investment ever made in the state for rural employment and development works. Financial approval of over ₹1,538 crore has also been received from the Government of India as the first installment of the scheme.

The Chief Minister stated that the scheme has balanced the interests of both farmers and workers
        . To ensure the availability of workers during agricultural operations, a provision has been made to suspend work for 60 days a year, ensuring that both farming and employment are not affected.

The picture of villages will change with 318 types of development works.
       The Chief Minister said that 318 types of works have been included in the scheme in four major categories. These include 107 types of water conservation and water enrichment works, 90 types of rural infrastructure development works, 86 types of livelihood promotion works and 35 types of climate adaptation and disaster management related works. He said that under water conservation, ponds, check dams, recharge structures, irrigation expansion, groundwater conservation, soil conservation and tree plantation will be given priority. Whereas under rural infrastructure, facilities like roads, culverts, Panchayat buildings, Anganwadi, additional school rooms, rural libraries, laboratories, kitchen sheds, solid and liquid waste management, Muktidham and veterinary hospitals will be developed.

The rural economy will gain new strength.
        The Chief Minister said that under livelihood promotion, infrastructure related to rural markets, agricultural produce storage, cold storage, dairy, fisheries and animal husbandry will be developed. Meanwhile, under climate change and disaster management, priority will be given to flood and cyclone shelters, drainage, embankments, forest fire prevention, and post-natural disaster reconstruction.

The state also topped in preparing the Gram Panchayat action plan through Yuktdhara.
        Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Chhattisgarh has performed excellently at the national level in the preparations for the implementation of VB-G Ram Ji. The state is at the first position in the country by completing 98 percent e-KYC of workers, while it has secured the second position with 99 percent geo tagging of assets. Along with this, the state has also topped in preparing the GIS based Gram Panchayat action plan through the Yuktdhara portal.

Water conservation and the “More Village, More Water” campaign will receive new momentum.
        The Chief Minister stated that water conservation has been given top priority in the scheme. Based on water availability in various development blocks, a minimum fixed expenditure will be ensured for water conservation works. Additionally, this scheme will provide new impetus to the state government’s “More Village, More Water” campaign.

The Chief Minister stated that a budget of ₹5,591.42 crore
         has been proposed for VB-G Ram Ji in the year 2026-27. ₹1,264 crore has already been spent in the first quarter from April to June 2026, significantly accelerating development work in rural areas.

Implementation will be transparent, quality-oriented, and timely.
          Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the objective of the scheme is not only to provide employment, but also to build self-reliant and developed villages by strengthening water conservation, sanitation, education, social infrastructure, and rural livelihoods. Every work will be approved by the Gram Sabha. Transparent and timely implementation of the scheme will be ensured through digital monitoring, timely wage payment, quality control, and social audit.

        Deputy Chief Minister and Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Richa Sharma, Commissioner of VB-G Ram Ji Shri Taran Prakash Sinha along with senior officials and a large number of journalists were present in the press conference.
