The NEET exam scheduled for May 3 has been cancelled. This has caused outrage across the country. This decision was taken by the National Testing Agency amidst allegations of paper leaks. After the decision was announced, actor Kamal Haasan was furious. He believes that this decision has wasted the hard work of 2.2 million students. Kamal Haasan wrote on his official social media account, ‘The hopes of 2.2 million students who worked day and night and dreamt for the NEET entrance exam have been shattered by criminal conspiracies. Who will take responsibility for this mental anguish?’ Further, he wrote, ‘I don’t remember a single NEET exam till date that has been conducted without allegations of irregularities and fraud. This is why we are struggling to bring education back to the state list. Indian students must be saved from this unjust NEET exam and the mafia working behind it.’ The investigation into the paper leak case has now been handed over to the CBI. The Federation of All India Medical Association has also demanded a thorough investigation. Meanwhile, many students in Delhi are also protesting against the cancellation of the exam. This NEET exam was scheduled to be held in 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
