National Award-winning lyricist Manoj Muntashir released a video about the young people protesting against alleged vote theft. In it, he accused Abhijeet Dipke of misleading the youth and also criticised YouTuber Dhruv Rathee. Manoj Muntashir began his nearly 8-minute 42-second video by addressing the youth. He said they were protesting over the issue of vote theft without understanding the facts. According to him, the youth should know who is leading them and what the purpose of their protest is. Accusations against Abhijeet Dipke Targeting Abhijit Dipke, Manoj said that he was associated with Arvind Kejriwal’s team. According to Manoj, young people’s energy is being used to return to power after the Aam Aadmi Party’s electoral defeat. Referring to the condition of schools in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, he said that the protesters do not talk about problems in states where the Congress or the Aam Aadmi Party is in power. He alleged that this was done to avoid upsetting their supporters and funders. Also targeted Dhruv Rathee Manoj also criticised YouTuber Dhruv Rathee. He alleged that Rathee did not respond positively to India’s achievements and successes. Manoj said that from Mangalyaan to military achievements, there was no enthusiasm on Rathee’s timeline on occasions when the country deserved praise. Tells young people to make decisions based on their own understanding Manoj Muntashir told young people that he did not care which party a person voted for or which leader they supported. He expressed faith in the young people’s thinking and their ability to make independent decisions. He said that he had to say with great sadness that this rebellion of theirs was not being led by people such as Jayaprakash Narayan or Anna Hazare, but by some extremely dishonest, scheming and opportunistic people. He said that they wanted to turn the country into the next Nepal, Pakistan or Bangladesh on the strength of the young people. He asked whether they, too, wanted to become like that and whether they wanted to become like those people. He also made it clear that he is not a member of the BJP and has no connection with the government. However, he said that because he believes in truth, the armed forces and Sanatan, his ideology aligns with that of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the BJP. Questions over the Election Commission and allegations of vote theft In the video, Manoj Muntashir also questioned the allegations being levelled against the Election Commission and the Chief Election Commissioner. He argued that if the Election Commission operates entirely under the BJP’s influence, why is the BJP out of power in several states? Citing states such as Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir, he said that the BJP is not in power in these places. His argument was that if the Election Commission were entirely in the BJP’s favour, the BJP would have won elections in all these states. He also cited the example of the 2024 Lok Sabha election in Uttar Pradesh. According to Manoj, the BJP and its allies won 36 of the 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, while the Samajwadi Party and Congress together won 43 seats. He asked that if the Election Commission was working in the BJP’s favour, how did the BJP and its allies suffer a setback in Uttar Pradesh? He made his point by citing the example of Bengal Manoj Muntashir also referred to West Bengal’s election figures. He said the BJP had won only three Assembly seats in the state in 2016, after which the party’s performance continued to improve. Calling this an example of the democratic process, he said that a political party must go among the people, reach out to them and explain its policies to win an election. He said that in a democracy, the people sometimes give a party power and sometimes take it away. According to him, this should be viewed as a normal part of the democratic process. Patriotic message at the end of the video At the end of the video, Manoj Muntashir appealed to young people to make decisions keeping the national interest in mind. He said that young people should not accept any person or idea blindly. He also said that he did not consider the youth anti-national, but believed they had a positive outlook towards the country. He appealed to the youth to use their energy and protest thoughtfully.
