A female police officer came in and told Dipke that his grandmother had died. On hearing this, Dipke sat with his hands on his head. Another police officer offered him a bottle of water, but Dipke did not take it. Then Police officer: Sir, what have you decided? If you want to attend his last rites, we will arrange whatever transport is possible for you-bus, train or flight. Dipke: No, I’m fine as I am. Officer: You mean you will not go? Dipke: I’m fine like this. Officer: All right. The other thing is, if you want to speak to any family members, we can arrange the call from our phone. You can dictate the number. Dipke: I don’t remember the number. It won’t be possible to speak to Dad, so tell him to perform the last rites today itself. Officer: All right. If you change your mind, let us know. Dipke: All right.
