Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez appeared before Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Wednesday in connection with the ₹200 crore money laundering case. During the court hearing, the actress completely denied all the allegations against her and dismissed them. As soon as the court proceedings concluded, Jacqueline immediately left the premises. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating Jacqueline’s role and financial transactions in this case, along with the main accused, Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Jacqueline, presenting her side before the judge, said that all the money laundering allegations leveled against her are baseless. She has flatly denied being involved in any kind of wrong transaction. Videos and pictures of Jacqueline also surfaced while she was exiting the court premises after the hearing concluded, where she got into her car and left without speaking to the media. This entire case is related to high-profile conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Sukesh is accused of extorting ₹200 crore from Aditi Singh, wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Singh, from inside Delhi’s Rohini Jail. The investigating agency ED claims that Sukesh spent a large part of this extorted money on Jacqueline Fernandez and her family. Sukesh gave gifts worth crores of rupees to entice Jacqueline. Jacqueline is an accused in ED’s supplementary charge sheet
The Enforcement Directorate (ED), after investigating this case, had also named Jacqueline Fernandez as an accused in its supplementary charge sheet. The ED states that Jacqueline was already aware of Sukesh’s criminal background and the extorted money, yet she continued to accept expensive gifts from him. On the other hand, Jacqueline Fernandez’s legal team is continuously arguing in court that the actress is completely innocent in this case. Her lawyers say that Jacqueline herself became a victim of Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s conspiracy and she befriended Sukesh believing him to be a businessman. During the investigation, several private pictures of Sukesh and Jacqueline also went viral on social media. Currently, in this matter, the court is deciding how to proceed with the case based on the allegations.
